Ulinzi Stars tactician Benjamin Nyangweso has heaped praise on new striker Julius Nabutete Okutu after putting in a great shift in the two appearances that he has made for the Soldiers.Okutu made his debut in the barren draw against FC Talanta last week and was entrusted to play the full length as Ulinzi went down by a solitary goal to Kakamega Homeboyz in Thika. In an off-colour Ulinzi Stars performance, Okutu was brilliant with his movement and ball handling and could have given the Soldiers an early lead in the game but was denied by the post.Nyangweso believes that the 25-year-old forward who joined the club in mid-season from Division One side GDC FC will be of much help to the team following his display in the two matches.”He has been improving in training. He played very well when he came on against Talanta in the previous meeting so we decided to give him full minutes against Kakamega Homeboyz and he had a decent game. He is a very good young and energetic player whom I believe will help the team,” Nyangweso said.Speaking on recent performances that have left the team hanging slightly above the relegation zone, Nyangweso noted that the results were not a reflection of what is expected from a club of Ulinzi Stars calibre, but maintained that they will continue putting in more effort to ensure the Soldiers have a decent finish to the campaign.🚨 OFFICIAL COMMUNICATION!Name : Julius Nabutete Okutu Age : 2️⃣5️⃣ YearsPosition : StrikerHome County: KakamegaPrevious Club: GDC FC ✅ Karibu Nyumbani#WeSoldierOn#GBUS pic.twitter.com/7LNrEllwJ0— Ulinzi Stars FC (@UlinziStarsFC) February 4, 2022 The four-time champions are 14th on the log with 26 points, just six ahead of Wazito who are in the relegation play-off position but Nyangweso remains upbeat the team will be at a decent place before the season ends.”The recent results do not place us in a good position. It is a position that we are not used to. As Ulinzi being in such a position does not feel well for the coach. But we are working towards ensuring that we have a decent finish to the season,” he added.
