FKFPL Review: Leopards, Police become artists as Gor Mahia claim victory

The past weekend witnessed only two Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) matches with Gor Mahia compounding Wazito FC’s woes with a 1-0 win while artists AFC Leopards and Kenya Police FC settled for another draw. The league is however set to take an 11-day break due to the International Break which makes little sense owing to the FIFA suspension imposed on the country.Alarm bells for WazitoThe season started with so much promise for Wazito after an impressive transfer window that saw the arrivals of James Kinyanjui, Amos Ekhalie and Cliff Nyakeya but the season has unravelled disastrously for Wazito.FTGor Mahia 1-0 Wazito FCThe hosts walk away with maximum points.#Wazito4life— Wazito Football Club (@wazitofc) March 19, 2022 A 1-0 loss to Gor Mahia courtesy of George Odhiambo’s strike was Wazito’s third consecutive loss and four games without victory, leaving them five points from safety as they continue to flirt with relegation.Despite the win, Gor Mahia’s inconsistencies continue to haunt them but the win keeps their faint hopes of recapturing the title from Tusker FC alive as they currently trail log leaders Kakamega Homeboyz by 11 points with a game in hand.
