Enterprising AFC Leopards youngsters get pat on the back from experienced goal poacher

AFC Leopards striker John Makwata has lauded the team’s largely youthful tea for the good shift they have been put in the league so far and is eyeing a strong performance in the final 12 games of the season.Makwata alongside other new signings Cliff Nyakeya, Victor Omune and Josephat Lopaga were finally cleared to play by the FKF Caretaker Committee and they made their debuts on Sunday against Kenya Police FC. They made an immediate impact as Nyakeya won a penalty which Makwata converted to earn his team a point in a one-all draw.In an interview, the striker spoke of his relief at being cleared to feature. He further lauded the young players for the good shift that they have been putting adding that they have come on board to reinforce the team.“We have been training with the rest of the team for weeks now and we were just waiting to be cleared to play and I am happy to be back on the pitch playing. For me this is a job and whoever I score against is not important as long as I help my team,” he added.The two teams meet again in a fortnight.
