Schlupp, Salisu and Ayew out as Ghana name team to play Nigeria

Ghana national team head coach, Otto Addo has named his squad that will take on Nigeria in the 2022 World Cup qualification playoff. The first leg will be played in Accra on 25th Match in Ghana while the second leg in Nigeria will be played four days later.The aggregate winner of the two-legged playoff will take one of the five slots allocated to Africa. Eight other teams will contest for the remaining slots.Addo has maintained a large chunk of the players that were part of the Ghana squad at the 2021 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon. Captain Andre Ayew misses out through suspension while there is a place for Roma youngster Felix Afena Gyan who snubbed an AFCON call-up.Other notable inclusion are Daniel Amartey of Leicester City, Dennis Odoi who turns out for Fulham, Arsenal’s Thomas Partey, Mohammed Kudus of Ajax and Crystal Palace’s Jordan Ayew who is expected to be the main man upfront.
