Led by senior Trent Phillips, the Georgia men won for the first time this season at the recent Linger Longer Invitational. The Bulldogs won by four shots over Vanderbilt after a final-round 8-under to win at 28.
“I could not be happier for these guys,” said head coach Chris Haack via a release. “They all put in the work and they have great vision for where they want to go collectively and individually. To get a hard-fought win like this is a shot in the arm for these players. It will give us even more confidence as we work toward the postseason.”
“I love being a part of this program so much, and I want to do whatever I can to help us win,” added Phillips, who finished second to player of the week Jacob Bridgeman. “This is great momentum for us heading down the stretch.”
Ben Van Wyk finished third at 8 under, with Maxwell Ford a shot back at 7 under. Two more Bulldogs finished inside the top 25 with Nic Cassidy at T-19 and Eli Scott, playing as an individual, in 24th.
