Nigeria’s Super Eagles head coach Augustine Eguavoen has warned his charges against underrating Ghana ahead of Tuesday evening’s FIFA World Cup qualification playoffs second leg clash. The two teams meet again on Friday with the tie even after the barren draw in Accra on Friday. Both teams have everything to play for but the Super Eagles will be hoping that some supporters give them the much-needed extra push to overcome their West African rivals.Ahead of the match, Eguavoen has warned his team not to underrate Ghana. He admitted that the Black Stars controlled proceedings in the first leg despite the fact that they did not create many opportunities in the game, he believes that they will be no pushovers in the second leg.M A T C H D A Y! 🔥 🏟️ Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja 🆚 #Ghana⏲️6.00pm📲 #NGAGHA #SoarSuperEagles #2022WCQ pic.twitter.com/uod5Y7etxv— 🇳🇬 Super Eagles (@NGSuperEagles) March 29, 2022 “Ghana were on top of their game in the first leg but they didn’t have any clear-cut chances – but we had two clear-cut chances. Ghana are not pushovers, they have a lot of talent. We will keep respecting them and I’m very sure the Ghana team will give us a lot of respect,” he told CAF website.Revisiting the first leg duel, the tactician said they wanted to bag a win but was comfortable with getting a draw away from home. He further warned that they cannot afford to let Ghana run the proceedings on Tuesday evening.”We wanted to win the first leg but if we couldn’t win I would have settled for a draw and that’s exactly what happened. Our organization was very good, we combined well in all the lines. But we didn’t react quickly, so that’s something we have to work on because we cannot allow the Ghanaian players freedom on the ball,” Eguavoen added. The match between the two African giants will kick off at 8 pm East African time.
