Tusker’s title credentials set to be put under test upon league resumption

Tusker FC’s title credentials are set to undergo a grueling test over the next five rounds of matches when the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) resumes this weekend for its final phase after a two-week break. With only eleven games to go before the 2021/2022 campaign draws to a close, the reigning league champions face a herculean task on their hands if they are to defend the title they won last season.Already trailing current log leaders Kakamega Homeboyz by eight points, as they sit second on the log on 41 points, the Robert Matano-coached side have stern tests awaiting them immediately upon the league’s resumption this Saturday as they come up against the league’s ‘big boys’.📅| Mark your calendars. Furthermore, the ‘juogi’ inspired side are only three points behind Tusker as they sit in fourth place on the log, a chance they could well use to put Tusker to the sword as they aim to climb further up the table.Jameni hata kama ni chuki. Anyway, NDOVU NI KUU!! 15 points tukisonga. @MikeOkinyi Msiniharibie mood pic.twitter.com/N9ZZ7CC5oy— Japheth Mutinda (@JaphMutinda) March 29, 2022 In the fourth game, Matano’s troops will face AFC Leopards who have been reenergized by the signings of four new players – John Mark Makwatta, Cliff Nyakeya, Victor Omune and Josephat Lopaga – and the recent return of Collins Sichenje. The Brewers will come up against an Ingwe side that is currently on an eight game unbeaten run. After all those four matches, the Brewers wrap up their fifth match against a physical Talanta FC side that defeated them 1-2 in the first leg and have certainly proved to be no pushovers. Will the champions rise up to the challenge?
