Masters Week concert series featuring Nelly, Blake Shelton, Pitbull, Tim McGraw, Jimmy Buffett officially canceled

AUGUSTA, Ga. — After weeks of speculation, it’s official: the XPR Augusta concert series has been canceled.

C4 Live managing partners Michael Perry and Greg Costello made the announcement Wednesday in a joint press release, saying “This was an extremely difficult decision for all of us at C4 Live. But it was made with the best interests of our fans, talent, employees, volunteers, sponsors, partners and the community at heart.”

The concert series scheduled for Masters Week would have been housed at Lake Olmstead Stadium, which was being renovated into an entertainment venue with VIP areas. Perry reported in January that the progress was going so well, not only would they be ready by XPR, but they would have all of the extra bells and whistles installed and ready two years ahead of schedule.

But then, earlier this month, construction had been stopped due to soil instability, followed by a stop in ticket sales.

The series would have featured Nelly, Blake Shelton, Pitbull, Tim McGraw and Jimmy Buffett. Prior to Wednesday’s announcement, none of the performers, except for Pitbull, were showing on their websites that they were scheduled to perform in Augusta. Pitbull’s representatives at United Hills Agency in Beverly Hills, California, were left a message for comment, but no response was given, as of Wednesday.

Refunds for tickets sold through the main website, xpraugusta.com, will be processed to the debit or credit card charged within the next 14 days. Those who purchased tickets through a third-party like Groupon or Ticketmaster, will have to contact them directly.

Perry and Costello said they are still committed to revitalizing Lake Olmstead Stadium and are working with technical experts to resolve the issues and proceed with plans for 2023.
