Migori Youth chairman petitions Caretaker Committee for a three-weeks break

Migori Youth Chairman Aziz Osman Abdi has petitioned the Football Kenya Federation Caretaker Committee to consider at least a three-week break after the first leg of National Super League matches is done and dusted. The second-tier league in the country gets to the halfway mark the coming weekend, although there are teams that are some matches behind following cancelations in between the season.According to the master fixture, NSL is set to continue the following week after round 19 is played this weekend but Abdi believes that it is important to have a break for teams to restrategize.Abdi went on to add that a break will not only help the players and technical bench members to rest and restartegize, but will also give a platform for the clubs and the Caretaker Committee to sit down and evaluate on the progress.Full statement by Migori Youth Chairman; As the first leg the National super league 2021-2022 season comes to an end this weekend,we would like to appreciate the interim caretaker committee and other clubs for the efforts made to ensure the league continues despite the many challenges faced. It has been a peculiar season with a lot of uncertainties about the future of football in our country and with the latest news from FIFA on the indefinite suspension of football in Kenya many Clubs, stakeholders, and Sponsors have been thrown into unfamiliar territory. We hope the current stampede can be sorted as soon as possible. We recommend at least a 3 weeks break after the 1st leg to allow our players and the technical bench and Clubs to rest, restrategize and plan for the 2nd leg. Many Clubs are struggling financially and are at the brink of collapsing due to the current situation that has led to many Sponsors and stakeholder pulling out their support due to the uncertainties and the economic challenges. Therefore a break will be important to allow both the Clubs and the committee to look at the gains and losses so far. This is beneficial and allows fairness and encourages competitiveness.Migori Youth are 18th on the log with 16 points after 18 matches and will be taking on Mwatate United on Saturday at Migori Stadium.
