After being elevated to the rank of captain at AFC Leopards, Eugene Mukangula has revealed his dream of leading the team to a top-five finish this season. Leopards had to ring changes in the leadership of the playing unit for the second time in the season after their skipper Marvin Nabwire left the club to join the police service.Nabwire had been handed the armband in November last year following the departure of Isaac Kipyegon who joined champions Tusker in the final days of the transfer window. Nabwire had been named the new captain with Peter Thiong’o being his assistant.Eugene Mukangula is the new AFC Leopards captain. Leopards kicked off the campaign on a sour note but have gathered steam to sit just a place outside the top half. The clearance of the experienced players acquired in the January transfer window will certainly boost their efforts to achieve a respectable finish.“It is an honour to be named the new captain. The rank comes with a lot of responsibilities both on and off the pitch. As a team, we have our objective for the season and I will be a proud man to see us achieve it at the end of the season. Finishing inside the top five will be a good start for me as the captain,” said the former Thika United midfielder.Marvin Omondi Nabwire is the new AFC Leopards captain.
