Alumira staying in Tanzania after ditching Tigers

Days after announcing his departure from Tiger Queens citing the need to solely focus on his job at Harambee Starlets, Alex Alumira has landed a new role in Tanzania, Mozzart Sport has learned.The former Vihiga Queens tactician is romoured to be joining a different Tanzanian side but it is yet to be revealed in what capacity.Alumirah steps down from head coach role citing Starlets focusA source privy to the details of his departure from Tiger Queens revealed that the negotiations with the new employer began before he joined the women premier league side but he chose to sign with the Arusha-based side. Alumirah joined the women’s side back in August 2021 after his abrupt departure from Vihiga Queens, at a time the Kenyan side was preparing for the inaugural Women’s Champions League CECAFA qualifiers.He penned a five-year-deal with Tiger Queens. In January, he was appointed Harambee Starlets’ head coach as the team was preparing to face Uganda’s Crested Cranes for a chance to play in the Africa Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON). His tenure as head coach runs until the Caretaker Committee’s mandate concludes. “Yes he is heading to a different institution in Tanzania. Alumira had a release clause with Tiger and the negotiations are nearing conclusion. They also have youth programs and at the moment, his role has not been revealed yet,” the source added.
