Bayern used all Freiburg’s mistakes for another comfy win in Bundesliga

There were doubts about Lewandowski, Kimmich and Goretzka before Bayern’s match with Freiburg as two of them had injury problems, and coach Nagelsmann was suggesting that some of them might be spared, due to the upcoming Champions League quarterfinal match against Villarreal, but nothing happened. All three players started, Goretzka scored one and Kimmich had an assist for the comfortable win: Freiburg – Bayern 1-4.4️⃣ goals, 4️⃣ different scorers 👌🔴⚪ #SCFFCB 1-4 pic.twitter.com/BaBw92k6CF— FC Bayern English (@FCBayernEN) April 2, 2022 While the Bavarians were dominant and deserved a win, it has to be noted that it was Freiburg’s individual errors in defense which led to three Bayern’s goals. Keeper Flekken is guilty of two, and defender Nico Schlotterbeck will ‘carry’ another goal on his soul. Against such strong opponent, these mistakes are unacceptable. The first half was one of the most boring Bayern displays this season, with almost nothing to report. All shots on target were from distance, or weak, and there were no clear chances, as Freiburg players stood well tactically. The best effort came from Josua Kimmich in the 41st minute, when his cheeky shot on goal straight from the corner nearly surprised home keeper Flekken.Second half brought all the goals and there were some chances too. Flekken error number one was when he misjudged the ball from the Kimmich free kick and went for it, only to see Goretzka arriving fast to head it to the net: 1-0. Freiburg coach introduced former Bayern player Nils Petersen, who needed only 18 seconds to score the equalizer, after a great shot from 18 meters. Serge Gnabry came in for the guests and scored even faster then Petersen, after Schlotterbeck allowed him to take the ball inside the goal area after a long cross, dribble him and score. Then it was Flekken’s time to for the error number two. Freiburg’s keeper allowed himself to receive a goal from 20 meters to his closer side, and Coman was the executor. Former Leipzig midfielder Sabitzer scored in injury time just to confirm a stout victory over the home team and a good prelude for the Champions League.
