Reigning Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) champions Tusker FC will look to stay within touching distance of Kakamega Homeboyz when they come up against KCB FC on Saturday. The two teams renew their rivalries just 16 days after registering a barren draw at the Kasarani Annex which opened up an eight-point gap at the summit of the log following Homeboyz’ win over Ulinzi Stars.Match Day.🆚| KCB🏟️| Ruaraka Complex🕘| 3pm EAT🎫| Sh200#KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/DivfrLJoKj— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) April 2, 2022 Speaking ahead of the clash Tusker FC veteran midfielder Humphrey Mieno admitted that the game will not be a walk in the park after the draw that left the players downhearted. “It was a very tough match with few chances because KCB is a really good side and have improved over the years. The players were dejected at the final whistle because currently we are holding ourselves in high regard and we wanted all three points. But we take the point and move forward,” said Mieno. The Brewers did not have the best preparations for the match after suffering a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Sofapaka in a midweek friendly but will be delighted to welcome the services of their top scorer Ibrahim Joshua who was called up to the Tanzanian National Team. KCB have not been in the best of form recently after registering two wins in the last 11 games, a run that has seen them hit a speed bump in the title race. The Bankers midfielder James Mazembe noted that they will be angling for a win with the international break beneficial for them to work on their shortcomings. 📸| The lads enjoyed the final session ahead of tomorrow’s home duel against KCB.#KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/l9exqUiYeB— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) April 1, 2022 “We are going for a win today although it will be a very tough game, the break has helped us work on our weaknesses and we have been polishing up our finishing.I hope that the game will be kind to us, the boys have been in high spirits since the week began and we are hoping we can translate that on the pitch,” said Mazembe. The two sides have however settled for four consecutive draws in the league but KCB have a wretched record against Tusker having won only once against them since 2009.
