Former Tusker FC and Bandari FC assistant coach George Owoko says he is focused on moving División One side, Balaji out of the relegation zone after he was named head coach on Friday.Relegation battling Balaji named Owoko as their new boss after parting ways with Christopher Ochieng Agu over poor results. The team has registered just one win all season with the latest setback being a 2-1 defeat to Avena FC at home.The club took to social media on Friday to announce Owoko’s arrival while wishing to depart Agu well.“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. George Owoko Oduor as our new Head Coach effective immediately. We take this opportunity to welcome Mr. Owoko to Balaji and look forward to great results,” read the statement in part.”We also want to thank Coach Agu for the wonderful work he has done for the club and wish him the very best in his future endeavors”.In an interview, Owoko expressed his delight at returning to the dugout.Bandari withered storm of 2players being sent off but went on to beat Tusker 1-0. I have confidence in the players at my disposal and I will work to make them understand my philosophy after which we will be up and running. The first five games of the season will be crucial for us because it will be a period of laying down the foundation,” he added.Owoko’s first assignment will be against Equity FC on Saturday afternoon.
