What a glorious goal! Andre Silva scores a goal “from the carpark”

Take a bow, Andre Silva! The 24-year-old Brazilian scored one of the best goals we’ve seen this season in his Arouca’s 2-1 victory over Liga Portugal’s surprise package Gil Vicente. Not only he help his team end the nasty run of seven winless games by scoring twice, but he made the headlines with a sumptuous long-range chip that flew like a comet over most of the pitch and into the net.

Andre Silva had already given his team the lead earlier in the game, but nothing could prepare the fans for what was to come next. He made it 2-0 with a goal that will be remembered for a long time at the Municipal de Arouca. The Brazilian spotted that Gil Vicente’s goalkeeper Ziga Frelih left his area and he took a glorious long-range shot that saw a few jaws drop around Portugal and the rest of the world. The visitors only managed to score a nice consolation goal through Lucas Ferrugem in the added time, but it was too late for them to maybe steal a point. The day belongs to Andre Silva!LIGA PORTUGALFridayBraga – Benfica 3-2 (1-0)/Medeiros 28, A Horta 59, Oliveira 79 – Nunez 74, Mario 77/SaturdayBelenenses – Portimonense 2-0 (1-0)/Safira 11 pen, Pedro 90+4/Arouca – Gil Vicente 2-1 (0-0)/Andre Silva 55, 59 – Ferrugem 90+2/Estoril – Vizela 1-2 (1-1)/Ruiz 35 – Kiko 16, 63/Sunday17.30: (2.10) Maritimo (3.35) Tondela (3.60)20.00: (3.00) Moreirense (3.20) Guimaraes (2.45)22.30: (1.25) Sporting (5.80) Ferreira (12.0)Monday22.15: (1.25) Porto (6.25) Santa Clara (11.0)***odds are subject to change
