Victor Wanyama’s CF Montreal finally got their first league win of the season after beating FC Cincinnati 4-3 in a Major Soccer League (MLS) match staged at the TQL Stadium in Ohio on Saturday evening.Montreal were winless four matches into the new season before turning up in style on Saturday to beat the hosts in a seven-goal thriller.Brandon Vazquez opened the scoring for the home team in the 12th minute before Montreal’s Dorde Mihailovic scored the first of his double in the 17th minute. The visitors were however pegged back three minutes later when Alistarir Johnston scored an own goal. Luciano Acosta would level the scores for the home team from the sport just after the hour mark.Joaquin Torres had the final say in the game when he scored Montreal’s fourth goal of the game in the 67th minute, a lead that they defended well to pick all three points. They are currently 13th in the log with four points.The win is a big relief for coach Wilfried Nancy who has been under pressure in recent weeks with media reports suggesting that he was due for a sack.
