Mathare United tactician John Kamau is adamant that his side has all to play for with 30 points up for grabs in their bid to retain their Premier League status after a disastrous campaign. The Slum Boys are currently rooted at the bottom of the log with just 11 points after 24 matches but the tactician brought in midway through the season to save the sinking ship remains confident they can turn things around.”We still have 30 points to play and that is the most important thing. It is just an issue of pushing the boys. We conceded very simple identical goals in the game and I think we could have done better on the two occasions, but that is football. We now have to work on our next match,” Kamau said.FT: Posta Rangers 2-1 Mathare United T.Otieno (54/8) / A.Ochieng (36)#PostaVsMathare pic.twitter.com/JIs9npcRhU— Mathare United FC (@MathareUtd) April 3, 2022 In both of their matches against the Mail Men, Mathare United had a stellar first half but crumbled in the second half and the former Wazito tactician attributes it to lack of fitness, something he has been vocal about since joining the club.He has termed the lack of fitness in the final third of the season as a sad state of affairs but noted that they will continue working on the same to improve where they can as the season wraps up.”Our fitness is still not at par. It is sad that we are still talking about fitness in the second leg. We will have to continue pushing to see what we get out of the boys,” he added.Mathare head coach finds reprieve in upcoming FKFPL breakUp next for Mathare is a home fixture against Vihiga Bullets at Kasarani Annex on Saturday.
