The Masters: Hideki Matsuyama’s history at Augusta National and current odds to win in 2022

Magnolia Lane kept its gates closed to patrons in 2020, leaving the players to compete among nothing but the Georgia pines. That changed a little bit in 2021.

A limited amount of patrons were allowed on the grounds each day, bringing back a sense of normalcy to the event. They were treated to quite the show.

Despite a late charge (and collapse) by Xander Schauffele, and consistent pressure from the eventual PGA Tour Rookie of the Year Will Zalatoris, Hideki Matsuyama became the first Japanese golfer to win the Masters.

Matsuyama kicked off the 2022 Masters in a splendid fashion with a Champions Dinner unlike any other, though he regrets not wearing his green jacket more during the past year. Can Matsuyama do what no previous winner has done since Tiger Woods 20 years ago and repeat as Masters champion?

Current odds to win 2022 Masters: +4000
