Kenya Police FC midfielder Francis Kahata says he still harbors the dream of playing outside the country a few months after he returned to the FKF Premier League, inking a one-year deal with the Sammy Omolo led team.Kahata, who has previously played in Albania, Tanzania, and Ethiopia is one of the star players brought on board by the ambitious police who are keen on conquering Kenyan football a year after they got promoted to the top tier. They have however found the going tough and are currently in 11th position with 28 points after 24 rounds of league assignments. The attacking midfielder has now disclosed that he intends to play overseas in the near future again. Many believed that his return to the Kenyan league was the beginning of the end of what has generally been successful for the midfielder who started his playing career at the now-defunct Thika United.Francis KAHATA aka Kachi is back in full training after being out for two (2) weeks with an Hamstring injury. The midfielder is back when we face Talanta FC on Saturday 9th April 2022 at 1.00pm Kasarani Annex.@748AirServices@betikaKe#BetikaNaCommunity #policingthroughsports pic.twitter.com/KTKSieuT7v— KENYA POLICE FC (@kenyapolicefc) April 7, 2022 “I’m definitely still open to playing football abroad. Joining Kenya Police this season doesn’t mean I intend to retire from football soon. That may be a general perception out there, which is quite misleading,” Kahata told the Star.Despite the law enforcers’ struggle with form and consistency, the midfielder believes that a top-five finish is still within their reach“We still stand a perfect opportunity to finish in the top five given the depth and quality in the squad. We have a blend of youth and experience and although we started on a low note, I believe we can brush that aside and perform well in our remaining fixtures,” Kahata said.Police will play FC Talanta on Saturday at Kasarani.
