Mikel Arteta says Arsenal will be without several key players for Saturday’s home clash against Brighton – with both Thomas Partey and Kieran Tierney likely to miss the rest of the season. The Gunners announced that Ghana international Partey had picked up a thigh injury in their 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace on Monday. Arteta confirmed earlier this week that left-back Tierney has a knee injury, one that is likely to rule him out for the season after he had surgery on Thursday and right-back Takehiro Tomiyasu is still sidelined with a calf problem.Thomas Partey 🇬🇭 will be out for a few weeks according to Arteta pic.twitter.com/UOp9JTPylm— Eric Njiru (@EricNjiiru) April 8, 2022 Now Arteta has spoken about his team’s injury news ahead of the Seagulls game, before taking on Southampton and Chelsea later this month.”Partey will be out for some weeks. He could be back before the season ends but it could not be the case as it’s an area where he had an injury previously and he felt it straight away.”Left-footed Scottish international Tierney is likely to miss the rest of the season, as confirmed by Arteta.”He’s just had surgery on Thursday. It’s very early to understand how everything is going to develop. I think the player has to do the maximum to be in the best possible condition as soon as possible.”Thomas Partey – Arsenals Rolls Royce @Thomaspartey22 pic.twitter.com/9YeGI5niNV— 🍭 (@Armzinnho) April 4, 2022 For Arsenal’s opponents, Adam Webster and Adam Lallana are in contention for the weekend encounter following injuries.
