Mathare, Bullets to face off in crunch relegation fight clash

Struggling Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL)sides, Mathare United and Vihiga Bullets will be embroiled in a serious relegation fight on Saturday afternoon when they face off in a league match at the Ruaraka Grounds. The two teams occupy the wrong end of the table. Mathare are rock bottom with 11 points and just above them is Bullets with 13 points as their game against Gor Mahia that had been awarded to them by the FKF Caretaker Committee remains a subject of a legal dispute. This is the first time that the two sides will be meeting. They have never faced off even in a friendly match and both teams, knowing what is at stake will be determined to get maximum points from the duel ahead of the second leg duel set for Bukhungu Stadium in a week’s time.Mathare United have managed to pick just three wins all season and have also suffered the most defeats in the FKF Premier League this season, (19), they have also let in the most goals (53). Bullets on the other hand have two wins and have forced seven draws earning points that have helped them sit above Mathare, they have lost 14 games.Ahead of the match, United coach John Kamau says they are heading to the game to pick maximum points. He believes that the desire to beat the drop will motivate his team to perform well.FKFPL Weekend Fixtures Saturday Mathare vs Vihiga Bullets – Ruaraka, 3PM Police FC vs Talanta – Kasarani Annex, 1PMSharks vs KCB – Kasarani Annex, 3:30PM Bidco vs Posta Rangers -Thika, 1PM Tusker vs Gor Mahia – Thika, 3PM pic.twitter.com/HgIp6VLvhf— Jeff Kinyanjui (@Nyash88) April 8, 2022 “We have prepared for this game well, and the target is obviously to get maximum points from the match, that’s the bare minimum. The boys understand the importance of getting a result tomorrow, everyone in the team understands the position that we are in and I believe that’s enough motivation heading to the game, the desire to move out of that area is enough motivation for everyone,” he told Mozzart. His Bullets counterpart, Juma Abdallah says he has done his homework well and is equally eyeing maxim points.”We have done our homework well, we know their weaknesses and their strengths and we will try to limit their danger and punish them in their weak areas. We know that they will also come all out to fight for the points and I expect a great game on Saturday,” he stated. The match kicks off at 3 PM.
