Kakamega Homeboyz coach Bernard Mwalala has heaped praise on Sofapaka ahead of Sunday’s meeting between the two sides in Nairobi.Batoto ba Mungu will host the league leaders at the Kasarani Annex for the first leg before they meet again at Bukhungu for the return leg in a week’s time.Ahead of the game, Mwalala has lauded their Sunday opponents pointing out that they have a quality team. Sofapaka recently handed David Ouma the reigns as head coach after Ken Odhiambo left and the Homeboyz boss believes that could work to Batoto ba Mungu’s advantage.”When there’s a new coach at the club players strive to impress him and as such we expect a tough match against Sofapaka on Sunday. Historically they are a good team, they have good quality players and I know that they will also be targeting three points in that game, it will not be an easy match,” he said.Homeboyz put Ulinzi Stars to the sword last weekend at Bukhungu after putting four past them but Mwalala says it will have no impact in Sunday’s game. Our last five meetings against Sunday opponents.#MozzartBet#wearehomeboyz#AbanaBeingo pic.twitter.com/uC7q8wMKUT— Kakamega Homeboyz FC (@FcHomeboyz) April 8, 2022 “We won convincingly last time out but that’s now behind us. The result can be flattering because it doesn’t give the truest picture of the game, Ulinzi had chances too the difference is that we took ours while they did not convert theirs because we were solid defensively. I have warned the players against getting carried away and I am confident that they will remain focused. We want to win on Sunday and we are going to give our best to get the three points,” he added. The tactician once again downplayed title talks.”Ten matches means we have 30 points to play for. Those are a lot of points and in football anything can happen and we are alive to the fact that things can take an undesired twist and so we have to remain focused, give our best in each and every game and see what happens at the end of the season,” he added.
