Luca Pellegrini appeared to equalize with a fizzing shot from the edge of the box – however, VAR officials spotted a handball in the build-up and annulled the goal.Inter make amends for three draws in the last four games by trashing VeronaAfter knocking on Cagliari’s door for most of the half, Juventus finally broke through. Juan Cuadrado chipped a ball to the back post for Matthijs de Ligt and the Dutchman arrowed his header back across goal and into the side-netting to equalize. It was seconds before the halftime break.In the opening minutes of the second half, De Ligt’s centre-back partner Giorgio Chiellini tried to put Juventus ahead by redirecting a shot in from close range – but VAR struck again, and ruled the goal out due to Juve’s captain being offside.Striker Dušan Vlahović finally broke down the stubborn Cagliari defence by scoring a scrappy goal from close range, despite being frustrated for most of the night.
