Kenyan international Ayub Timbe had to wait till turning 29 years of age to finally add a league title under his belt and put icing on the cake with a goal to mark the memorable occasion after his Buriram United side thumped Nong Bua Pitchaya 3-0 to lift the Thai Premier League. The fleet footed winger has turned out for a number of top sides including KRC Genk, Lierse SK, Beijing Renhe, Reading FC and Vissel Kobe but has only managed to win the Belgian Cup with Genk back in 2013.Timbe has spent barely a season at the club after joining them in the mid-season transfer window having terminated his contract with Japanese side Vissel Kobe.Buriram United had a bright start to the game and finally turned their dominance to an advantage in the scoreboard when Supachok Sarachat struck to hand them the lead at the stroke of the half hour mark. The champions elect however had to wait till the 69th minute to double their advantage through Theeraton Bunmathan after Thu Aung put the ball on a plate for him.Timbe who was thrown into the foray in the 78th minute after Thu Aung was rested took only four minutes to announce his introduction as he struck to hand Buriram the emphatic win. There is still a game to spare in the Thai Premier League but Buriram have amassed an insurmountable seven point gap at the summit of the log.
