Bullets working to topple Wazito from playoff spot

Vihiga Bullets head coach Juma Abdallah now says the goal is to leapfrog Wazito FC to 16th spot in the log with his team just one point below the Fred Ambani led team.Bullets’ win over Mathare United on Saturday moved them to 19 points, just one below Wazito who suffered a fourth consecutive defeat in the hands of AFC Leopards on Sunday at the Thika Sub-County Stadium.Bullets face off with the Slum Boys again in a week’s time at Bukhungu Stadium where a win coupled with Wazito’s failure to down Leopards in the return leg scheduled for Friday afternoon at the Nyayo National Stadium will see Bullets leave the relegation zone for the first time this season.A bullish Juma is adamant that by the end of week 26 action his team will be occupying the playoff slot after which he believes that they will leapfrog other teams above them.FT: Mathare United 0-1 Vihiga Bullets 70′ J.Kajuba #MathareVsBullets pic.twitter.com/NfW3wqwIKJ— Mathare United FC (@MathareUtd) April 9, 2022 “The point difference between us and Wazito is now just one point and we are going to do our best to beat Mathare at home next week and I am confident that by the end of next weekend we will be above Wazito because they have two tough matches against AFC Leopards which I do not believe that they will win. Once we move to the playoff spot, the goal will now be to catch up with teams above us. There are teams that are just 6 or seven points above us and these are teams that we can leapfrog if we continue playing the way we are doing at the moment,” he stated. On his team’s Saturday performance, the tactician said he was more than impressed by how his team executed their plan for their first away win of the season.“I am happy with my players because they followed instructions to the latter. We had a game plan because we had studied how Mathare plan and came up with a plan on how to ensure that they do not hurt and also how to beat them and I can say that my players executed the plan successfully and kudos to them because have given us our first away win of the season even though we were given the points from the abandoned match against Gor Mahia,” he added.
