Five year ban for Biashara United supremo involved in Bolton Omwenga saga

The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) has slapped Biashara United’s Secretary-General, Haji Mtete with a five-year ban on football activities after failing to honour a transfer embargo following Bolton Omwenga’s case at FIFA.The former Kariobangi Sharks fullback petitioned a case to FIFA after the club failed to settle his dues which led to the world governing body handing Biashara United a transfer ban.Taarifa kutoka Shirikisho la Mpira wa Miguu Tanzania (TFF)@tplboard @azamtvtz @tanfootball @taifastars_ @biasharautdmara pic.twitter.com/ZEcoL7PBlo— TFF TANZANIA (@Tanfootball) April 11, 2022 In a statement released on Monday 11 April, the TFF confirmed the five-year ban imposed on Mtete after failing to honour the transfer ban.“The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) disciplinary committee has banned Biashara United’s Secretary-General, Haji Mtete from football-related activities for five years for failing to honour FIFA’s directives.The TFF Secretariat forwarded the complaints against Mtete before FIFA Disciplinary Committee for signing players at the Tanzanian Premier League club which is contrary to Article 73 (8) of the TFF handbook, 2021 edition,” read part of the statement.Biashara United has had some recent history with Kenyans after appointing Francis Baraza as the head coach back in 2019 and also tasked Patrick Odhiambo with leading the club and also had Bolton Omwenga and Shaphan Oyugi in their books. The Kenyan player reported the club to FIFA for missing his salary.While appearing in front of the committee, the defendant Mtete admitted to committing the offense after he thought that the punishment from FIFA was on singing international players,” concluded the statement.
