Harambee Starlets head coach Alex Alumira has supported the current FIFA football suspension noting that it will be beneficial to the country in future.The world governing body imposed a suspension on international football in the country due to government interference after Sports CS Amina Mohamed disbanded Football Kenya Federation (FKF) on grounds of misappropriation of funds.Blow as FIFA ratifies Kenya suspensionThe former Vihiga Queens head coach admitted that football stakeholders in the country are suffering but welcomed the suspension if the right structures are to be placed in football.“Harambee Starlets are not in any competition, the players are suffering and every football stakeholder is also suffering, the journey will have benefits later. If we have to be out of football for a year or a half to get the correct structures in future, I will support it 100%,” Alumira told KTN News.Back in March, FIFA ratified the suspension imposed on Kenya which will be lifted once the previous FKF regime is reinstalled back in office.Starlets were supposed to take part in the 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations qualifiers against Uganda but a letter to CAF from FKF CEO Barry Otieno citing that they are unable to successfully ensure the match takes place led to the game being called off.Alumirah steps down from head coach role citing Starlets focusAlumira called for an overhaul in football systems in the country which will in turn hand stakeholders a right to enjoy the game.“Let us clean our systems and we should have a system that will help everybody, giving the coaches, players and every stakeholder a right to enjoy football,” added Alumira.
