Sofapaka FC defender David Nshimirimana opines that the team’s current position on the log is worrying, and thus a big concern.Batoto Ba Mungu are currently 12th on the log with 29 points after 24 rounds of matches and have won only once in 2022 but the Burundian is optimistic that the side will stage a strong finish to the campaign.”Sofapaka is a big club and the current position we are in is not welcoming. It is a huge concern for us, the players, and everyone associated with the team. Irrespective of the current situation, I understand it won’t be easy, but we will fight to the end because in football, everything is possible,” Nshimirimana is quoted saying on the club’s portal.CapSofapaka defender David Nshimirimana (front) walks out the tunnel ahead of a CECAFA Senior Challenge cup tie in Bukhungu, 2017.On the far left is Moussa Omar who would also play for Sofapaka.#footke pic.twitter.com/XeyN38H8g0— Footballers Of Our Time (@TransferMarktEA) April 19, 2021 The 2009 champions held current league leaders Kakamega Homeboyz to a one-all draw last weekend but the defender feels they were unlucky more so in the dying minutes of the match.Sofapaka play Homeboyz again in the reverse fixture on Sunday at Bukhungu Stadium, with both teams coming into the match with a different kind of pressure to work on according to Nshimirimana. Xavi hails Sergio Busquets as the best midfielder in the world – that should be enough to beat the Germans!”We really prepared for a win last Sunday. From our play and efforts, we gave our best, especially in the second half. We went down in the opening 15 minutes, but we kept believing that we had a chance to turn around the first half set back, which we perfectly did. Unfortunately, we were so unlucky, more so in the dying minutes of the clash,” he said,”Despite the draw, we welcome the point because we faced a strong opponent who is having a good season. It will be a tough match because both teams have realized their weak areas and will come up with a different approach. Secondly, both sides have different kinds of pressure to work on. We all need the three points as we aim to move up the log and the Homeboyz want to maintain their position at the top of the table,” he added.
