Sofapaka head coach David Ouma is confident of his side becoming only the third team to hand runaway log leaders Kakamega Homeboyz defeat when they lock horns again on Sunday. The two teams settled for a 1-1 draw last weekend which stopped Homeboyz from opening up a healthy 12 points gap at the summit of the log after Tusker also registered a stalemate against Gor Mahia.Focused on Kakamega Homeboyz@betikaKe@OyandoRonny#BatotoBaMungu pic.twitter.com/dBr7dJAtQa— Sofapaka FC (@FC_Sofapaka) April 14, 2022 Ouma was dejected with the first half after conceding an early goal from David Okoth but is hoping to pick up where they left from in the second half when they meet again on Sunday.“Last weekend’s return leg clash on Sunday was a good test for us. We did extremely well, except for the first half, when we gave the Homeboyz players too much space and time. The return leg tie will not be a walk in the park. It is going to be a tough contest, but I believe if we can carry on with the second-half performance from last weekend and bury our chances, then I am confident we will bag the maximum points,” Ouma was quoted by the club’s official portal.Since taking over the reins from Ken Odhiambo who was shown the door back in March after a string of poor results, Ouma is yet to taste victory with the club as they have only registering one win this year.Following his post-match outburst against the center referee in the game, Ouma hoped to get better officiating in the game on Sunday as they travel to Bukhungu Stadium.FT Sofapaka 1 Kakamega Homeboyz 1Here is what coach David Ouma had to say in regards to the calls made by centre referee Israel Mpaima. pic.twitter.com/Q8PwyIPVeS— Meshack Kisenge (@kisengemeshack1) April 10, 2022 “The standards of officiating are lacking and is a huge concern that needs to be addressed. We do prepare to win and get fairness in the game, but not the biased officiating that has been rampant this season. I was not happy with the kind of officiating last weekend, and I am urging fairness on Sunday and across the league,” added Ouma.
