Pamzo aware of Talanta’s threat ahead of repeat match

Kenya Police FC head coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omolo has highlighted FC Talanta’s main threat ahead of Saturday’s showdown between the two sides at the Ruaraka Grounds. The two teams meet again a week after a first-leg clash at the Kasarani Annex that ended in a one-all draw. The result prolonged the law enforcers’ winless run in the league to three games meaning they have only won once in four since Pamzo took over.Duncan Otieno gave Police a 70th minute lead with a stunning goal from the middle of the park before striker Brian Yakhama who came on as a late sub salvaged a point for Ken Kenyatta’s side late in the game with a header from a corner spot delivery.Pamzo now says they have to deal with Talanta’s aerial threat. He says they are dangerous in set pieces and tend to go direct by dumping balls into the penalty area with the view of capitalizing on defensive mistakes by opponents.Full time pic.twitter.com/bkxsTQC4Qx— KENYA POLICE FC (@kenyapolicefc) April 9, 2022 “We noticed that they are dangerous in set pieces and so we have to defend those corners and free-kicks well, it is something that we have been working on in training because it is our opponents’ main strength. They also play a lot of long balls into the box and that can be problematic, last weekend they tried to play all the balls to Edwin Lavatsa, and even after he went off they stuck with their plan which means it is a strategy that we have to counter,” he stated. The tactician is also desperate to get maximum points when they take on Talanta at Ruaraka.“We definitely want to return to winning ways. Last weekend we conceded the equalizer in the dying minutes of the game and we want to make amends for that. We have not won in our last three games and it is about time we got the three points. I do not expect an easy game but I anticipate a good game on Saturday,” he added. The game starts at 3 PM.
