Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano has praised his charges for a game-plan well-executed after they downed Gor Mahia 2-0 at the William Ole Ntimama Stadium in Narok on Saturday afternoon.Goals from Shaphan Oyugi and Deogratious Ojok helped Tusker reduce Kakamega Homeboyz’s lead at the top to seven points as the 2021/22 season nears its close. Two teams met again after last weekend’s game that ended in a barren draw with the Brewers having a goal disallowed in stoppage time, a decision that Matano protested and slammed FIFA referee Anthony Ogwayo for bowing to Gor Mahia threats. On the game against Gor on Saturday, Matano said the plan was to get the opening goal which they did through Oyugi inside the first three minutes. Overall he says they executed their game-plan well.FT: Gor Mahia 0 – 2 Tusker FC #Sirkal | #Betsafe pic.twitter.com/xkvXdu0aMd— GOR MAHIA FC (@OfficialGMFC) April 16, 2022 “The game was good, we played well. It is good because we planned well and everything went according to our plan. We wanted to score first and we got it very early in the game which is a good thing and we are grateful for that,” he said.Unlike last week where he shredded referee Ogwayo, the veteran tactician had kind words for Saturday’s officiating team“The match was well officiated, not because we won but because the referee was very fair. We do not have any complaints today and I don’t think Gor Mahia have any as well. The referee came prepared to do his work diligently, he was not harassed by anyone and he did his job well, all was fair. I think both teams played well,” he added.Next for Tusker is a home match against Tusker FC on Sunday 24th April in Thika.
