Tusker FC head coach Robert Matano has scoffed at suggestions that his team will lose the title they won last season to Kakamega Homeboyz with eight matches left before the season comes to a close.Homeboyz lead the log with 54 points, while the Brewers, who managed to shake off their early-season struggles are second with 46 points. Both teams have eight games left including a tie between the two sides that will be played at Tusker’s Ruaraka backyard. The Brewers are on a good run and have not lost a league match since mid-January, Homeboyz on the other hand have lost just two games all season. The defeats came against FC Talanta at home and Bandari FC away in Mombasa.Congratulations to @tusker_fc for yet another great victory, another leap forward to a successful season. He maintains that his team has a chance of topping the log by the end of the campaign.“Eight games in football are a lot, if we were talking about two or three games that would be different but eight games are many. The title race is very much open, we are in it and we are going to fight to the end. Our focus is to end the season on top of the league ad we have to remain consistent for the remaining games, “he stated.Next for the Brewers is a home match against Tusker FC on Sunday 24th April in Thika.
