Kimani rues missed chances in Bandari-Nzoia draw

Bandari FC head coach Anthony Kimani believes his side would have bagged maximum points from their clash against Nzoia Sugar FC had they taken their first-half chances. The two teams faced off at a soaked Mbaraki on Sunday afternoon where four second-half goals ensured that the spoils were shared. The rains appeared to hinder the flow of the game in the first half before the match came into life in the second stanza. It started with a Levis Okello red card in the 52nd minute for a dangerous foul on budding Bandari midfielder Dennis Magige. It was expected that the Dockers would take charge after the red card but Joseph Mwangi had other ideas as he gave the visitors the lead in the 64th minute after going past several Bandari players.Wakulima wa miwa wamekuja na mvua yao wakaondoka na alama moja. #BandariNiYetu pic.twitter.com/mgrgPqfRfy— Bandari Football Club (@BandariOfficial) April 17, 2022 The Dockers responded four minutes later through a William Wadri bullet header and the turnaround was completed by Umaru Kasumba in the 72nd minute. Boniface Munyendo however had the last say in the game with a 75th-minute goal from the spot to ensure that each team left with a point. Bandari had defeated Nzoia Sugar 2-1 in the first leg played a week earlier at the Sudi Stadium in Bungoma. In his post-match interview, Kimani rued the chances they did not take in the first half. He believes things would have been different had they buried their opportunities.”We lost several chances to score goals that would have given us victory in the first 45 minutes,” he told the Daily Nation.Nzoia boss Salim Babu on the other hand lauded his team’s effort for the point earned in Mombasa.”It was the efforts of my players that enabled us to go back home with a point,” Babu stated.
