FKF Premier League (FKF-PL) giants Tusker FC have announced the departure of captain Eugene Asike to Swedish third side, IF Karlstad Fotboll.Asike, who has not featured for the team in recent weeks has been with Tusker on two stints; winning two league titles with the team. Last season he skippered the team to their 12th league title and was named FKF Premier League defender of the year during the end-of-season gala. He last played for the team on January 20th against Vihiga Bullets in Nairobi.“We would like to confirm that skipper Eugene Asike has left the club following the positive talks on a move to Swedish side IF Karlstad Fotboll. They finished fourth in the league last season.Tusker chairman David Aduda thanked the player for his service to the club and wished him well in Sweden.“We thank Eugene for his services to the club. He has been a loyal servant and a dedicated player since when he first moved here and we are happy for his progress. He has diligently led this squad as captain over the last three seasons and we truly appreciate his dedication. We wish him all the best in his new journey and hope that he will continue his success there,” Aduda stated.Asike has previously turned for KCB and Sofapaka. He is also a full Kenyan international.
