Shirikisho hilo lina imani kuwa mgogoro utatatuliwa hivi karibuni. pic.twitter.com/XtOgvNxO7W— Mozzart Bet Kenya (@mozzartbetkenya) April 19, 2022 Kenya’s inclusion in the draw, alongside that of Zimbabwe, comes with an ultimatum in that the two countries have to work to see their respective suspensions lifted two weeks before the first matchday of the qualifiers.In the event that the two countries will not have fulfilled the requirement, they will not be considered for further participation and thus their respective groups will consist of three teams with first and second teams of those groups qualifying to the main event.As a result, the two countries cannot be drawn into the game group to avoid having a group with only two participants in the eventuality that they are not able to have their suspensions lifted.Kenya given ultimatums for AFCON 2023 considerationThe teams will be drawn into 12 groups of four teams (Group A to L) with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the tournament to be staged in Ivory Coast.The hosts will also participate in the draw despite having already secured their place in the tournament which means only one other team from their group will qualify for the competition.In the draw to be conducted by the CAF Director of Competitions Samson Adamu and assisted by African football legends Lucas Radebe of South Africa and Ivorian Solomon Kalou, the first ball will be drawn from Pot 4 and will go to position A4.The procedure will be repeated for the remaining teams of Pot 4 who will go to positions B4, C4, D4, E4, F4, G4, H4, I4, J4, K4 & L4 according to the draw order, and the same procedure repeated for Pot 3, Pot 2, and finally Pot 1.The qualifiers will start in June 2022.Additional reporting by CAFonline
