A third consecutive home defeat for Chelsea for the first time since 1993, the last one being pretty panful – Arsenal defeated the Blues 4-2 at Stamford Bridge to end the Gunners negative streak. Thanks to north London club youngsters – a brace from Eddie Nketiah and a goal each from Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka – Chelsea suffered mostly because of their own mistakes in their own defensive third. An absorbing first half saw attack triumph. In 32 minutes, the Stamford Bridge crowd saw four goals – with some suspect defending from both sides. Nketiah was the first beneficiary – pouncing on an awful back pass by Andreas Christensen, he clinically fired past Edouard Mendy to put Arsenal ahead on 13 minutes. However, the lead lasted just four minutes, with Chelsea drawing level when Timo Werner, a man who always seems to need a bit of fortune to find the net. The German saw his tame shot wrong-foot Aaron Ramsdale thanks to a large deflection off Granit Xhaka. Bad defending and quite a bit of luck for both sides thus far.The nets did not stand still in the second 45 minutes, goals continued to flow. Opposed to first two, this time there was no luck about the finish – Arsenal re-took the lead via Smith Rowe, who was teed-up by Martin Odegaard. The Englishman calmly slotted past Mendy from the edge of the area midway through the first half. However, there was further first-half drama as only five minutes Cesar Azpilicueta converted a delicious cross from Mason Mount. To bring some stability to his backline, Thomas Tuchel introduced Thiago Silva at halftime. The Brazilian became the oldest outfield player to represent Chelsea in the Premier League with 37 years and 210 days of age. But even so, Chelsea were unable to stop a third Arsenal goal – Nketiah once again benefited from a bit of good fortune, and was alive to put Arsenal ahead with a poked finish from close range just before the hour mark. The hosts had their chance to equalize again but Marcos Alonso saw his shot blocked by Gabriel Magalhães. Arsenal sealed their victory, which moves them level with fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur with a Bukayo Saka’s late penalty. Question remains – was Azpilicueta tricked by the young Englishman as it looked that Saka was holding the Spaniard by the arm to earn that shot from the spot.Chelsea are just five points ahead of the chasing pack, albeit with a game in hand over their two nearest top-four rivals. The Blues reached a third consecutive FA Cup Final at the weekend, while Arsenal keep fighting to return to the European elite.PREMIER LEAGUERearranged matchesTuesdayLiverpool – Man.Utd 4-0 (2-0)/Diaz 5, Salah 22, 85, Mane 68/WednesdayEverton – Leicester 1-1 (0-1)/Richarlison 90+3 – Barnes 5/Chelsea – Arsenal 2-4 (2-2)/Werner 17, Azpilicueta 32 – Nketiah 13, 57, Smith Rowe 27, Saka 90+2 pen/Newcastle – Crystal Palace 1-0 (1-0)/Almiron 33/Man.City – Brighton 3-0 (2-0)/Mahrez 53, Foden 66, Silva 82/Thursday21:45: (2.85) Burnley (3.25) Southampton (2.75)***odds are subject to change***
