Captain Mieno: We have eight ‘finals’ to play in the league

Tusker FC new captain Humphrey Mieno has labeled his side’s remaining eight games as ‘finals’ as the Brewers seek to retain the league title with the odds largely against them. The Brewers trail league leaders Kakamega Homeboyz by eight points heading into the final matches of the campaign. This includes a match between the two sides that will be staged at Tusker’s backyard in two weeks’ time.Mieno, who took over from Eugene Asike as skipper following the latter’s move to Sweden earlier this week understands the huge task that lies ahead and he says they will be facing each game as a final. He added that his team needs to win as many games as possible to have a stab at the title again.💪| Work….#KenyaMilele #Brewers4Life pic.twitter.com/7PF4lx1Yvw— 🏆Tusker FC (@tusker_fc) April 21, 2022 “Right now we just need to focus on our matches because each match is a final. We need as many points as possible and we will try gather as many wins as we can and we see what comes off the end of the season,” the veteran midfielder told the club’s official website.Reflecting on last weekend’s important win over Gor Mahia, the midfielder admitted that it was not an easy game. He added that they were however more clinical in the second leg unlike in the first that was played a week earlier. The first leg between the two sides ended in a barren at the Thika Sub-County Stadium. “It was a very tough match and we are grateful to have taken all three points. It has never been easy against Gor. What was the difference with the first leg match was that this time we took our chances. Now we take the three massive points with our heads held high and focus on the next one.”Tusker will face AFC Leopards on Sunday at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani.
