Sofapaka head coach David Ouma believes his team has been unlucky not to win some games with the side now winless in the last eight league matches.Ouma, who took over from Ken Odhiambo a fortnight ago is yet to register a win as Batoto ba Mungu’s interim coach. He will however be encouraged by back to back draws against league leaders Kakamega Homeboyz and the fact that they missed a late penalty at Bukhungu on Sunday, a spot kick that would have easily won them the game.Despite the rough patch, the tactician remains positive and believes that it is just a matter of time before that run comes to an end.🚨Up Next📍A short trip in the capital🔜We take on @NrbCityStars🗓️ Saturday 23/04/2022@betikaKe@OyandoRonny#BatotoBaMungu pic.twitter.com/kGzD4ncla9— Sofapaka FC (@FC_Sofapaka) April 20, 2022 “We have really done well so far in the last three outings in which we have faced strong opponents. The team has generally improved and played well, but luck has not been on our side. The winless streak is a concern but not a worry because I believe we will get the results pretty soon,” he told the club’s official website. On his team’s chances of finishing in the top half, the tactician said he believes that they can achieve that but wants his attackers to start taking the opportunities that they create in match situations.“The league is competitive because the point gap is not wide. One simply has to take full advantage of their opportunities, and I believe this has been our main undoing because we haven’t been as clinical as we should be in the final third. I am optimistic that once my players take more personal responsibility by converting the numerous chances that we will create in the remaining nine matches, then a top-half finish is very much possible,” he added.A second leg encounter with @FC_Sofapaka awaits us!This Saturday, Ruaraka is the place to be! 🔵⚪️#CityStars #KPL#𝕊𝕚𝕞𝕓𝕒𝕎𝕒ℕ𝕒𝕚𝕣𝕠𝕓𝕚 pic.twitter.com/mDxvBXFhro— Official Nairobi City Stars Fc (@NrbCityStars) April 21, 2022 On Saturday afternoon, Batoto ba Mungu will face Nairobi City Stars at the Ruaraka Grounds in a crunch league match and despite admitting that they face a solid side, he is confident that they can get something out of the game.“We are going to face yet another strong opponent on Saturday. They are currently second on the log and in good form, but going with our style of play and the level of improvement that we have gained, I am optimistic that this is going to be our turning point. We respect our opponents, but if we can convert our chances into goals, then I have no doubt we will carry the day,” he added.Veteran midfielder David King’atua has been ruled out the tie with a meniscus injury.“We have one injury concern with David Kingatua ahead of Saturday. He suffered a meniscus injury, and we hope to have him back soon” he added.
