Gor Mahia head coach Andreas Spier has issued a rallying call to club supporters to start attending the team’s games with the Mashemeji Derby a fortnight away. The record league champions have over the years enjoyed fanatical support across the nation but after the Covid-19 pandemic, their match attendance has been dwindling with just a handful of fans showing up for their games even when staged in Nairobi.Their arch-rivals AFC Leopards on the other hand have been recording an increased number of fans attending their games and are currently the team with the biggest number of fans showing up for their games. This has been attributed to the attractive football that they are playing under coach Patrick Aussems even though the team sits in the 10th position on the table.🟢 | MATCH RESULTS FULL TIME: KCB 0 – 1 GOR MAHIA ( ⚽️ – Benson Omalla ) 💪💪#Sirkal | https://t.co/Hc8koPGJrr pic.twitter.com/xgvN2isOD4— GOR MAHIA FC (@OfficialGMFC) April 23, 2022 With the derby set to be played in Kisumu a fortnight away, Spier wants to see fans back in the stadium.
