After plundering his first goal of the year, Gor Mahia forward Benson Omala was elated to get back on the scoresheet in the 1-0 win over KCB on Saturday.Omala bagged the match winner in the 76th minute as he got on the the end of a Philemon Otieno freekick with a diving header that buried the ball into the roof of the net.Omala strikes late to guide Gor Mahia past hapless KCBSpeaking to Mozzart Sport, Omala was delighted to end his goal drought for the club but will not be resting on his laurels as he seeks to put in an extra shift to regain his form.”It is a very good feeling to score because it has been a while since I got on the scoresheet but I won’t get carried away by the goal as I will continue to work hard. In the game against KCB I really gave my all and what was left in the game was to get a goal which I got towards the end of the game,” said Omala.Omala missed a huge chunk of games for Gor Mahia this season after he reportedly fell out with some members of the technical bench before German head coach Andreas Spier joined the club.The former Western Stima forward returned back to Kisumu after the tiff back in December last year and trained with his boyhood club Manyatta United before returning in late February.Gor Mahia want missing striker back in the teamRecalling the game against KCB on Saturday, Omala credited the win for collective team effort and stated how important the three points are for the club at this stage of the season.”We fought as a team no wonder we got the three points, and the three points are very important because they will help us push, higher the table,” added Omala.
