Bandari FC head coach Anthony Kimani has lauded Bidco United ahead of Saturday’s league action against the Thika-based club that will be played at the Mbaraki Sports Club. The rejuvenated Dockers will be looking to complete a double over the Anthony Akhulia coached team after the 3-2 win over United in the first leg that was staged at the Thika Sub-County Stadium in October 2021.Ahead of the Saturday showdown, Kimani, who is currently Bandar’s interim coach highlighted Bidco’s strengths. He described the team as a dangerous one of the break and a solid one at the back. He was also full of praise for coach Akhulia who he says handles big matches well.“They are defensively disciplined and can be quick on the counter-attack so we have to prepare for a tough match, plus Coach Anthony Akhulia is a tactically gifted coach who knows how to handle big matches but we have prepared well and we are aiming for three points,” he said in an interview with Citizen.✍️ TAKWIMU DHIDI YA BIDCO UNITED Wapinzani wetu wa Jumamosi ijayo tumechuana nao mara 3️⃣, tukatwaa ushindi mara 1️⃣ na kutoka sare mara 2️⃣.💙⚓#BandariNiYetu pic.twitter.com/ijU15FJa5i— Bandari Football Club (@BandariOfficial) April 28, 2022 Last weekend, the Dockers walked home with three points without kicking the ball. The team had traveled to Nairobi to play Mathare United only for the Slum Boys to issue a walkover citing financial struggles that are bewildering the 2008 league champions who are currently bottom in the league and Kimani says being inactive for a fortnight derailed his team.“We had prepared for the match expecting a very tough encounter because we know they are fighting for relegation but having not played against them and not getting a friendly match to match them it really affected us but we are ready for Bidco,” he added. After 27 rounds of league assignments, the Dockers are currently 6th in the table with 44 points and they will have to bet
ter their performance in the remaining seven matches if they are to match or better a third-place finish that they achieved last season.
