The record Tanzania Premier League champions have been a different beast since appointing Nabi Nesreddine as the head coach with the side yet to suffer defeat this season in 20 matches played thus far. The impressive run of form has seen them enjoy a 13-point buffer at the summit of the log over their arch-rivals Simba who have a game in hand but dropped points last time out against Polisi Tanzania. Congolese forward Fiston Mayele who has been integral for Yanga this season has promised fans a goal against Simba but acknowledged that it will not be a walk in the park. “The fans were demanding that I should score against two teams, which are Simba and Namungo. I made this promise to them by making sure that I score against these teams. I am grateful to see that I managed to do so against Namungo. So at the moment I have a debt in the game against Simba and I have to make sure that I score a goal for the fans, it’s not easy because Simba defenders will not let me score but I will fight for that,” said Mayele. After coming from a disappointing exit at the hands of Orlando Pirates in the Quarterfinals of the Confederation Cup, Simba head coach Didier Gomes Da Rosa highlighted the magnitude of the game. It’s going to be another big match this week and we are going to suffer many times but we are used to it because our last game against Pirates was tough. The team has to change its mentality and be ready to play good football and have fans enjoy who will be watching the game,” said Gomez. The game is slated for a 5 pm kick-off at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium.
