Mathare United dish out another walkover

Mathare United have given another walkover in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League after failing to turn out for their league match against Ulinzi Stars at Kericho.The Soldiers were set to host the Slum Boys on Saturday starting at 3 PM EAT, only for the latter to fail to show up, barely a week after failing to do so against Bandari at home.After the second walkover, Mathare are just one walkover away from relegation with all indicators pointing toward that, including their onfield performance in the matches that they had played.OFFICIAL: Bandari handed a walkover as Mathare boycott league matchThe bottom-placed Slum Boys were set to host the Dockers at Kasarani on Sunday last week but the club founder and chairman Bob Munro issued a statement just a day to the match announcing that the club would not be in a position to honor the match owing to financial challenges that have crippled the team for the last two seasons.The past two seasons have been tough for Mathare who narrowly avoided relegation from the top tier last season after a poor performance largely due to financial challenges.
