Victor Omune returned to haunt his immediate former employer as he scored one and won a penalty as AFC Leopards defeated KCB 2-1 In an FKF Premier League (FKF-PL) match staged at the Moi International Sports Center Kasarani on Sunday afternoon.Heading to the game, both teams were keen on returning to winning ways after suffering defeats last time out. Ingwe went down 2-1 to Tusker FC while KCB had suffered a 1-0 defeat in the hands of Gor Mahia.The first chance of the game went KCB’s way when Derrick Otanga was put through on goal, the striker however failed to beat Levis Opiyo on Ingwe goal who pulled a superb save. Ten minutes later Otanga had another great opportunity inside the area but a sliding tackle from Peter Thiong’o saw the danger neutralized. Ingwe were forced to make a change after the half-hour mark when Olaniyi picked an injury, he was replaced by John Makwata.Nyakeya missed another chance in the 35th minute, with the goal at his mercy. A minute before the interval, Ingwe were awarded a penalty after the referee ruled that Omune had been pushed inside the penalty. Makwata stepped forward to convert for a 2-0 Leopards lead. At the other end, Otanga completed his hat trick of misses firing wide from inside the penalty area. Eleven minutes into the second half, Makwata missed a great chance to bury the Bankers after he was put through but with only Okello to beat, he hit straight to the keeper, a minute later Brian Wanyama missed a sitter with KCB’s defence all over the place.KCB’s halved the deficit in the 71st minute through Sydney Lokale after intercepting a loose pass and a minute later they won a penalty, Lokale stepped forward to take but Opiyo on Ingwe goal stood tall to deny him. KCB raided in the later stages of the game but could not get a second goal that would have at least earned them a point.Nairobi City Stars 0-0 Kenya Police FCElsewhere at the Ruaraka Grounds, City Stars and Police FC played out to a barren draw in what was a closely fought match between the two sides.
