Double blow for Vihiga Bullets ahead of Sharks clash

Vihiga Bullet’s quest to avoid relegation from the FKF Premier League (FKF-PL) suffered a blow when captain and right-back Nickson Kwalwale picked an injury that could keep him out of action for weeks with just six matches left before the season ends.Khalwale, a defence stalwart was forced off with a thigh injury on Saturday in a match against Posta Rangers, a game that they went down courtesy of a Brian Marita strike just before the interval.Their next game is against Karobangi Sharks on Saturday in Nairobi and Khalwale, alongside another full-back Vitalis Akumu will miss the match. The former Western Stima defender will be laying his dad to rest on the same day and will thus sit out of the clash. Coach Abdallah Juma has termed their absence as a big blow as the race for survival hots up.“We now have to plan on how to play Sharks without two first-choice fullbacks. Nickson Khalwale picked a thigh injury on Saturday against Posta Rangers while Vitalis Akumu is bereaved, he lost his father who will be laid to rest this coming Saturday and he is definitely out of the game. Those are two very key players for us and I must admit that missing them is a big problem,” he stated.Tusker pile pressure on Homeboyz as Mathare fails to show up again 👀.Other resultsVihiga Bullets 0-1 Posta Rangers#kefootball pic.twitter.com/UVus0gOIHt— Kefootball_ (@Kefootball1) April 30, 2022 Despite suffering a setback against the Mail-men, the tactician believes they still have high chances of survival and has termed the remaining six matches as finals.“We still have six games to go and as long as we still have a fighting chance, we will give our best to the very end of the season. Of course, losing to Posta on Saturday was a big blow but we nonetheless have to keep fighting, we will regroup and prepare for the six games, one at a time, each one of them for us is a final,” he added.
