KCB assistant coach Godfrey ‘Solo’ Oduor believes Victor Omune’s early goal changed the game’s dynamics leading to the 2-1 defeat to AFC Leopards at the Moi International Sports Centre Kasarani. The former Bankers ace returned to haunt his former employer with an 18th-minute opener before he won a penalty two minutes from the break that was converted by John Makwata. Substitute Sydney Lokale scored a goal for the Bankers in the 71st minute before missing a penalty that would have earned his side a point in the game. The defeat means KCB have just one win in their last 13 games and for Oduor, they were in the game before Leopards went ahead. He says his team was punished for a great chance missed by Derrick Otanga moments before Ingwe went ahead.“We tried as much as we could, we started the game well got an opportunity to score but unfortunately we did not take it. Ingwe got theirs, they utilized it and it changed the dynamics of the match but all in all, we appreciate the efforts of the players,” he stated.Debut day for our youngster Eric Mbithi⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐#Betsafe #OursForever #INGWE pic.twitter.com/eadWu4GgUq— AFC Leopards (@AFCLeopards) May 1, 2022 The penalty awarded to Ingwe was contested for long by KCB players who felt referee Anthony Ogwayo got the call wrong but the tactician took a philosophical approach on the subject when asked to comment on the issue.“I cannot talk much about it because the referee thought it was a penalty and we cannot reverse it, AFC took their chance and scored and at the end of the day there is nothing we can say or do about it,” he added. On his team’s dwindling fortunes, the tactician said they will have to go back to the drawing board and plan for their next assignment.“It is football, they (Leopards) have won and we congratulate them for the win and we go back, train hard and see if we can get a win in our next match,” he added.Next for the Bankers is a home match against FC Talanta on Saturday 7 May at the Kasarani Annex.
