Brighton defender Lewis Dunk says that his club would be alright even if midfielder Yves Bissouma should depart at the end of this season – just like the team learned to live without Ben White following his Arsenal move.According to the Seagulls ‘ manager Graham Potter, Mali international Bissouma has been playing at the “Champions League level”. Two seasons of top-class performances haven’t got unnoticed, though, and the demand for the strong 25-year-old is believed to be very high ahead of the upcoming transfer window. With Bissouma seemingly reluctant to renew his contract that’s set to expire in just over a year, the blue and whites might not have much choice but to cash in and allow their star to seek pastures new. Just like the defence learned to live without Ben White, who moved to Arsenal in exchange for a big pile of cash, so would they do without the Malian.”I hope we keep the team together and keep pushing on. But we have the depth in the squad to fill in, and boys have stepped up. If the time comes and boys move on, like Ben White last year, then good luck to them. We lost one, but we have other people as back-up to come in and perform.”Saturday, 19.30: (2.95) Brighton (3.25) Man.Utd. (2.60)Dunk pointed out that young Ecuadorian Moises Caicedo took his chance and showed that he could be an essential cog in Brighton’s midfield – especially if Bissouma leaves.”Moises has waited for his opportunity, and in the last few games, he has been outstanding. I think that shows what we have got at this club. We have a great work ethic and togetherness on the training pitch, which gives us our foundations. That is the only reason he has performed like that because we work so hard on the training pitch.”Potter: “I think he [Bissouma] was part of a midfield that was impressive, Caicedo won balls and tackles. Alexis pops into good space and Enock contributed as well. I think it was a unit. It is one of those performances where you don’t really want to single anyone out.” #bhafc pic.twitter.com/Z478HyXPqs— RichieMills (@RichieMills2) May 3, 2022 Bissouma joined Brighton from LOSC Lille in 2018 and has quickly become a key player as the Seagulls cemented their status as a stable Premier League club. But it seems like he could seek another club amid reports of interest from Arsenal, Newcastle United and Aston Villa.
