KCB coach Solo blames fatigue for current predicament

KCB FC head coach Godfrey ‘Solo’ Oduor believes fatigue has played a big part in his team’s torrid run in the FKF Premier League this season. The Bankers have failed to replicate last season’s fine run in the league where they finished second and pushed eventual winners, Tusker all the way to the final day of the campaign.Much was expected from the Zedekiah Otieno led team this season with many anticipating that they would once again contest for the league title, things have however not been too rossy for the team that currently occupies the eighth slot in the log with 39 points. They are 17 points behind surprise league leaders Kakamega Homeboyz with six matches left before the league comes to a close. The team has registered just nine wins all season and have picked just one triumph in their last 13 games. This has seen them drop from the log to eighth and risk dropping out of the top ten positions.AFC Leopards vs KCB FC match highlights ✅ Eric Mbithe’s debut day✅ Makwata at cloud 5✅ Levis Opiyo penalty saveFULL HIGHLIGHTS ➡️ https://t.co/bzjhjMTSkH@Betsafe_KE #OursForever #INGWE pic.twitter.com/pRphu7C0We— AFC Leopards (@AFCLeopards) May 2, 2022 Oduor has explained why he feels his team appears to have run out of steam. He says fatigue is derailing the team as they didn’t tinker their squad much after the close of the 2020/21 season.”We worked so hard last season, and we did not make a lot of changes in our squad and we didn’t expect that there would be fatigue at this stage of the league but all in all we will keep trying to motivate the young men to ensure that we finish in a better position,” he stated.Their latest defeat came against AFC Leopards on Sunday where they went down 2-1. New team captain Michael Mutinda came on in the final 15 minutes and Oduor explained why the skipper didn’t start resulting in the team being dominated in the middle of the park.”Mutinda is not fully fit, he picked up an injury in our last game against Gor Mahia and our doctor advised us to only use him for 10-15 minutes and that is what we did and yes he tried his best in the game when he came on,” he added.KCB will take on FC Talanta on Sunday 8 May.
