In a match billed as the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) title decider, Tusker FC skipper Humphrey Mieno is hoping to get one better of log leaders Kakamega Homeboyz.Homeboyz have suffered a slump in recent matches which has seen their advantage at the summit of the log whittled down to four points after a run of four consecutive draws.Battle of the titans – Homeboyz centre back eyes victory over TuskerMieno, who was installed as the new Tusker skipper following the departure of Eugene Asike to Swedish side Karlstad, revealed that they will be going for nothing short of three points.“We want to prepare ourselves for that match well and when the game comes we hope that we will be ready and fresh for the match. We want three points in the game because that is what is important to us in the game in order to cut down the gap at the top of the table,” said Mieno.Homeboyz beat Tusker in the reverse fixture to mark only their third win over the Brewers with Robert Matano’s side emerging victorious on 10 occasions and a single draw being registered.Tusker who posted a wretched start to the season have soon found their footing with Mieno noting that they struggled to get consistency at the start of the campaign.Goal motivates Tusker’s Ouma after dip in performances“This season we started badly because if you look at the first game we dropped a number of points and before we got momentum it took a long time.It also took a long time to get how the coach wanted us to play but now when you look at the team we are in a better place than when we started,” added Mieno.
