Mwalala stakes claim on three points from pursuers Tusker

Kakamega Homeboyz head coach Bernard Mwalala has sounded the warning bells saying that his team will be in Nairobi to pick maximum points when they take on Tusker FC on Sunday afternoon at the Ruaraka Grounds. The league leaders are just four points above the defending champions and the outcome of tomorrow’s encounter could play a vital role in deciding where the 2021/22 FKF Premier League title will head to with Homeboyz keen on bagging their first-ever title. The Kakamega-based side has seen their eight-point buffer at the top reduced to just four points after drawing their last four games and with the Brewers breathing down their necks, they risk crumbling in the final stages of the season.Mwalala remains defiant and he says his team will be out to tame the Brewers who are unbeaten since mid-January.“We are coming for three points. I can confidently say that we will be fighting for maximum points in that game, we are not not coming for a draw we want to beat Tusker. We understand that they are on a good run, and they concede very few goals and the goal is to punish them for any mistake they will make to get the job done,” he told Mozzart Sport. This is the current standing of the #FKFPL.The gap between @FcHomeboyz and @tusker_fc is only 4 points with 6 games to go.Will Tusker retain the league or will Homeboys became the new champions? You can vote below. pic.twitter.com/Df0BNLQWy2— Vincent Ooro (@scentor) May 2, 2022 The tactician however admits that they have to improve at the back and in their forward line heading to the final six matches.“We are working on the mistakes that we have been making in the past four games because we want to end this drawing run and end the season strongly. We have had issues on both ends; at the back we have been conceding almost in each and every game and that is a concern at the other end we need to start taking most of the chances we create,” he stated.“We create so many goal-scoring opportunities but we fail to take them, the opponent gets a rare chance and we end up dropping points. It is something that we have discussed with the players and I am hoping to see a reaction in our next game,”.The match will start at 3 PM.
